Iowa is a very easy 12-hour drive from the DFW area. Google Maps will take you right here!! If you prefer to fly, we have you covered. There are 4 airports within a short drive from Lake Okoboji.

Can I fly from Texas to Iowa?

YES YOU CAN.... There are 4 airports to that surround Lake Okoboji. We recommend you check all of them for best flight prices. Sioux Falls, SD is the closest (1.5 hours from Okoboji) Omaha, NE (3 hrs), Minneapolis, MN (3 hrs), Des Moines, IA (3.5 hrs) You can rent a car at all of these locations OR you can have driver services. However due to distance car pooling would be ideal if you choose to fly!!

What are my options for an overnight stay?

What should I wear?

Answer

Semi-formal attire. Women: summer cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or elegant separates in fun summer colors and fabrics. Men: dress pants, button-down shirt, possible blazer, lighter fabrics. No jeans or shorts please.

Can I bring my children to the wedding?

We adore young children, however we have decided to make our wedding celebration a kid free zone. We hope you understand and take this opportunity to celebrate, relax and enjoy the evening!!

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those listed on the invitation and through RSVP.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We would love an on-time start to our ceremony and kindly ask guests to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ceremony to provide yourselves enough time to park, enter, and be seated.

Where is the ceremony being held?

Answer

The ceremony is on the terrace that overlooks Lake Okoboji. This is an outdoor ceremony, so please plan accordingly.

Where is the reception being held?

Answer

After the ceremony, you will take 20 steps to enter the reception area. There will also be some opportunities for outdoor gathering once the ceremony chairs are removed. A beautiful sunset awaits, and awesome fireworks to round out the evening. All festivities are within the event center area.
