Summer and Ethan

Wedding Party

Olivia Mortell

Maid of Honor

Livie is my younger sister and childhood nemesis who grew up to become my best friend. She was one of the first to hear about Ethan and, as predicted, cried when I picked my wedding dress. If you get to talk to Livie she would love to tell you about her 3 cats, her rocket-scientist husband Liam and all her high school english students.

Darian Wood

Best Man

When Darian and I were forced to be roommates in college because no one else chose us, I recall being excited to get to know him better. He recalls thinking I was weird. But that didn't stop him from falling in love with me, and eventually getting a job in Seattle so we could be closer to each other. He's an excellent listener, a quirky hobbyist, and an Michelin-level sous chef. But most of all, he's a great friend, and I'm blessed to have him in my life.

Grace Teno

Bridesmaid

Grace is my younger sister who generously shared a room with me for a year when I moved back to Seattle after college. She's an amazing soccer player, great cook and the best thrifter I know. Everything Grace wears she's taken from someone or thrifted somewhere and it all adds to her general vibe - being cooler than you and not even trying.

Austin McDermott

Groomsman

I've known Austin ever since we were in a middle school small group together in ASM, back when we were the only racial diversity in the church. Our friendship increased as we continued to grow in our faith, going on missions trips, serving in ASM as leaders, and starting a Life Group together. He's an unapologetic nerd and sports fan, which is perfect because I am too.

Mary Teno

Bridesmaid

Mary was the sister I got along with best growing up and she was my buddy when we were little. She's a fantastic barista and is way more fashionable than me. She has a vibrant energy and infectious laugh that has been known to cheer us all up when we needed it.

Bryan Lew

Groomsman

The moment I knew I wanted Bryan to be my college roommate was when he told me about his Kundalini yoga class. "I passed to a different state of consciousness," he said, which sounded so cool, until I learned it just meant he fell asleep. Bryan's dry, witty humor and strong opinions make him a great conversationalist, and his dependability makes him a great friend.

Sao-Mai Gahr

Bridesmaid

Sao-Mai is the Gahr family golden child and Ethan's younger sister; soon to be mine as well! Sao-Mai is the temperate and calm one to match Ethan's boisterous personality, however, you will see that it is Ethan who follows Sao-Mai everywhere.

Joshua Ancheta

Groomsman

Another one of my beloved housemates, Josh is a Madden-loving, Muse-listening, Hawaiian who doesn't know how to surf. Even as introverted as he is, he was always willing to adventure, whether it was all-you-can-eat KBBQ, a barcade crawl, or a late night taco truck run. Josh's presence in my life was a big part of the Christian community I loved so much in college.

Rachel Wilcox

Bridesmaid

Rachel was destined to be one of my best friends when our parents met before we were born. We spend our childhood growing up together having sleepovers and going on family camping trips. As adults Rachel and I have bonded over our nerdy love for reading and working together in the nursery at Alderwood.

Ian Fitzpatrick

Groomsman

I met Ian while touring campus ministries at USC, and it was my friendship with him that drew me to the Navigators. That friendship grew into a discipleship relationship that has grown my walk with the Lord more than any other. Kind, caring, and passionate, Ian taught me how to better pursue God by being an example of disciplined Christ-centered living.

Ashley Bodger

Bridesmaid

Ashley has been one of my best friends since we were born and we've spent a ton of our childhood and young adult lives together. After high school the Bodger's moved to Arizona, but at Rachel's wedding last year I convinced Ashley to move back to Seattle and be my roommate! Ashley is not only one of the quirkiest most hilarious people, she's also a very supportive friend who has been quick to offer help whenever I've need it.

Luke Stevens

Groomsman

Quite possibly the weirdest person I know and definitely the weirdest one I've lived with, Luke is a microwave-bacon-loving Star Wars fanatic who loves Jesus more than the Crusaders said they did. Luke does everything with passion, whether its charting Old Testament genealogies, building balsam wood airplanes, or just invading your personal space.
