It is fair to say that Kelly is the little sister that Syd always wanted. They met through Penn State's THON and while it took Syd a while to open up to Kelly's love for hugs and cats, they immediately bonded over a love for Grapefruit Drinks, Italian Food, and Penn State Tailgates. Syd then "recruited" Kelly to join her community services Fraternity, so they are technically brothers not sisters. Kelly and Manny speak via meowing to each other.

Ruben Gonzalez

Best Man

Manny and Rubens friendship dates back to second grade when they sat next to each other and they both realized they liked food, especially eating pecans from the pecan trees at recess. Now they express their love by trading insults and calling each other names but no matter the insults Manny can always count on Ruben to guide him home. Ruben and Syd share a goal of one day teaching Manny to swim.

Katie and Syd go back to 1994 at Appleland Preschool. It is hard to know the exact moment they became friends, but at least we know the place of it all began. In 4th grade, they created a gossip magazine that never quite made it to print, but one of them still has it and the other hopes it will never make a public appearance. No matter how far apart they live, their love for coffee, the Summer Olympics, and the color black will always keep them close at heart.

Aside from being cousins Manny and Jesse are the best of friends. Jesse admires Mannys beard from a distance and manny wishes he had the power to write prescriptions. They have been causing chaos since 1989 and aren’t going to stop any time soon.

Cynthia Young

Cynthia and Syd did not like each other at first. Then one night at the most magical place on earth (The Phyrst) they became fast friends after loosening up over some bear fights. Syd credits Cynthia for bullying her into moving to Washington D.C. with her after college. She also credits Cynthia for getting her into running by threatening her that she couldn’t come home if she didn’t run (Cynthia had the apartment keys). Don’t let this fool you, Cyn is an amazing friend and all around person.

Tyler and Manny became friends while studying abroad and quickly learned they both really love booze. When they lived in New York they could be found at the local Baylor bar trying to battle for the biggest Baylor fan (or highest pitch scream). Win or Lose they can both agree that nothing tops a good New York pizza after a rough football game.

Mirna Cervantes

Even though Mirna is Manny’s older sister you might confuse her for being younger because she has the energy of 25 year old. Since the day Syd met Mirna she has always opened her doors to them, and provided tons of relationship advice. She also can can be credited for keeping Manny in check with his Mexican culture when he starts to act too Italian.

Although Syd and Linds both went to Penn State their friendship really blossomed when they both lived in Arlington, VA after college. We are not going to say Linds followed Syd to New York but she happened to move just months after. While Syd does not love Cotton Candy nearly as much as Lids, they have many other shared passions that keep their friendship going strong.

Molly and Syd were merely co-workers when she accidentally spilled the beans on her first date with a certain Man(ny) over gchat. Little did they both know that a little oops would blossom into a amazing long distance friendship. They very successfully bake friend time into their work relationship by sharing coffee over gchat and occasionally getting spoiled by Manny making gluten free chicken pesto pasta whenever Molly is in town. Syd’s work wife has become a lifelong best friend.

Leona and Syd were known to stay up until 5am in high school writing papers the night before they were due. The mayhem didn't end there. In College they would get Margaritas in the train station and walk around New York City pretending they were sipping fruity smoothies. Syd credits Leona for helping her fall in love with New York City and all of the adventures they have come across along the way.
