Things To Do

Welcome to Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. There are so many things to do in Philly, whether it's catching a sports game (Go Birds), eating an iconic cheese steak (are you a Pat's or Geno's fan?), exploring Reading Terminal Market, dining on some dim sum in Chinatown, or chilling in Independence Hall (just like William Daniels did in Eshani's favorite movie "1776"), there are so many ways to "Choose Your Own Philly Story." Some of our recommendations are below but also feel free to check out the Visit Philadelphia Website: https://www.visitphilly.com/ Food & Drink: https://www.visitphilly.com/food-drink/ Museums & Attractions: https://www.visitphilly.com/museums-attractions/ History: https://www.visitphilly.com/history-in-philadelphia/ Parks & Outdoors: https://www.visitphilly.com/parks-outdoors-in-philadelphia/

Clark Park

4300-4398 Baltimore Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104

Clark Park is a beautiful green space in West Philadelphia, where we take frequent walks, sit to watch dogs in the informal dog park called "the puppy bowl", and enjoy each others' company. We sometimes grab a slice of pizza at Clarkville or have a latte at Greenline. Both of them are right on the corner of the park. Catch the Clark Park Farmers' Market on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm where you can find Amish cut flowers, seasonal fruits and veggies (cherries are Zach's fave), local cheese from Valley Milkhouse (where Zach took Eshani for her 29th birthday), and even beer!

Philadelphia Museum of Art

2600 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy, Philadelphia, PA 19130

There are so many museums in Philly, but one of our favorites is the Art Museum. Explore multiple floors of art ranging from classical realism to abstract, modern art. Admission is $25 per adult. This is also where the iconic "Rocky" steps are. It's also a great place to stroll along the Schuylkill River via the Schuylkill River Trail, watch rowing, grab some water ice, and take pictures.

Dock Street Brewery South

2118 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19146

Philadelphia's first modern craft brewing company, Dock Street is a staple. This woman-owned brewery offers a variety of beer, pizza, bites, mocktails, and more! They had a second location right around the corner from our old place in West Philly - our go-to order was the Americana pizza!

Prunella

112 South 13th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107

If you are in the mood for a more upscale but still casual place to eat we suggest Prunella. They use fresh seasonal ingredients to create small plates and fresh pasta. We ate here with one of our good friends right before we saw a modern version of 1776 at the Fox Theatre and instantly fell for the food, drinks, and cute ambiance!

Federal Donuts Parkway

1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103

If you Google search food in Philly, it's likely Federal Donuts will come up. At first we were both skeptical since we weren't sure if this was some sort of tourist gimmick but oh... we were wrong. We both consider ourselves donut experts to an extent, with Zach being from the Midwest and Eshani being a cake donut stan since her youth, we have come to the conclusion that Federal Donuts does put out solid cake donuts both in the classic and experimental flavor varieties. If you like donuts this is the place for you!
