We first considered hosting our wedding in Canada — but as we started building the guest list, we realized it might feel like “just another wedding” for most people. Nice, yes… but not exactly a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Since both of us were born in Korea but didn’t actually grow up here, we thought: why not turn this into an adventure for all of us? Hosting the wedding in Korea gives us the chance to reconnect with our roots while sharing the experience of exploring this amazing country with our friends and family. Korea is vibrant, full of history, culture, and good food (particularly for those of you coming from LATAM - Korean food is generally abysmal over there). It’s a place where you can wander through ancient palaces in the morning, shop bustling markets in the afternoon, and eat barbecue at midnight — all in the same day. So please think of this not just as our wedding, but as an invitation to discover somewhere new together. We can’t wait to celebrate, explore, and make unforgettable memories with you here! 처음엔 저희가 살고 있는 캐나다에서 결혼식을 할까 생각했어요. 그런데 하객 리스트를 만들다 보니, 대부분의 분들께는 그냥 “또 하나의 결혼식”처럼 느껴질 수도 있겠구나 싶었어요. 물론 예쁘고 좋은 결혼식이겠지만, 삶이라는 여정에서 어쩌면 가장 특별한 이벤트인 만큼, 조금 다르게 해보고 싶다는 생각이 들더라구요. 저희는 둘 다 한국에서 태어났지만, 인생 대부분의 시간을 해외에서 보냈어요. 그래서 이런 생각을 하게 되었는데요: 이왕이면 우리 모두에게 특별한 여행이 되면 어떨까? 한국에서 여러분을 맞이하게 된 이번 결혼식은, 저희에게 우리의 뿌리와 다시 연결된다는 의미가 있습니다. 동시에, 한국이라는 멋진 나라를 가족과 친구들과 함께 탐험하며 특별한 경험을 나누는 자리이기도 하고요. 역사와 문화가 가득한 한국은 음식도 맛있기로 유명해요! (특히 중남미에서 오시는 분들께 말씀드리자면… 거기서 한식 제대로 먹기 쉽지 않잖아요!) 아침에는 고궁을 산책하고, 오후에는 시장에서 쇼핑을 하고, 밤 늦게까지 삼겹살에 한잔 곁들이며 이야기꽃을 피울 수 있는 곳 – 이 모든 것을 하루에 다 즐길 수 있는게 바로 한국이예요! 그러니 부디 이 초대를 그저 저희의 결혼식이 아닌, 함께 새로운 곳을 발견하러 떠나는 여행의 초대장으로 봐주셨으면 좋겠어요. 여러분과 이곳에서 함께 축하하고, 여행하며, 평생 기억에 남을 추억을 만들 날을 정말 손꼽아 기다리고 있어요. 다시 한 번, 함께해 주셔서 진심으로 감사합니다!
