Flight
Santa Barbara (SBA) is a small, local airport and is the closest to Carpinteria. This might make finding direct flights to Santa Barbara more challenging, but is a convenient option if you can make it work. You can rent a car here, but Ubers/Lyfts are plentiful.
Flight
LAX is about 90 minutes away from Carpinteria. You will likely find the most affordable and direct flights to this airport. There are lots of rental car options, as well as a comfortable and reliable shuttle bus (Santa Barbara Airbus) that will bring you directly to Carp.
Travel Note
The Santa Barbara Airbus stops in Goleta, Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, and Camarillo on its way to and from LAX Airport. This is a comfortable and convenient option if the timing works out for your flight.
Train
If you're not in a hurry, this is a scenic way to travel up and down the coast. There are stops in Santa Barbara and Carpinteria, as well as at LAX (new station just opened!) and across the street from the Burbank airport (BUR).
Travel Note
Both are available in the area, though in Carpinteria specifically you may have to wait for a driver to come from Santa Barbara or Ventura.
House Or Rental
Airbnb has multiple options in the area (see link), as does VRBO. This will likely be your best value, and also get you closest to the beach. Also note that there are multiple private vacation rentals operating their own websites that can be found via Google search. If you're struggling to find a place to stay, or interested in sharing space with a group, please reach out to Erin or Troy.
Hotel
Probably the most comfortable of the hotel options available in Carpinteria.
Hotel
This hotel is a pet-friendly option that also has a pool.
Travel Note
There is a local shuttle that takes you around "central" Carpinteria. Passes can be picked up at Albertson's, a local grocery store (https://sbmtd.gov/fares-passes/).
