The wedding is at Ballard’s Beach Resort, 42 Water Street, Block Island, RI 02807.
To get to the island, you’ll need to take the ferry. Point Judith is the Block Island Ferry’s main ferry terminal, located at 304 Great Island Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882. You can see the ferry schedule and purchase tickets at https://www.blockislandferry.com.
You can come over for just the day, if you’d like. But we recommend staying a night or two, if you can, to have some time to enjoy the island, and to avoid having to travel so much in one day.
The venue is walking distance from the ferry. The downtown area with accommodations, restaurants, and shops is also within walking distance. Some of the beaches are walking distance as well. To get to other areas of the island, you can rent a bike or moped. You can also bring your car over on the ferry if you reserve it ahead of time or wait on standby the day of, but spots are limited.
Late September on Block Island is typically in the low 70s or high 60s during the day, and the mid 50s at night. Most days are sunny and a little breezy. The ocean temperature is actually pretty warm (for the northeast) because it’s had all summer to heat up.
Yes to both! The ceremony will be on the beach. The reception will be on a patio that is covered. Afterwards, there will be a fire on the beach.
Cocktail attire is encouraged.
You’ll be on a sandy beach for parts of the day, so we’d recommend sandals.
Having you at our wedding is all the gift we need! No other gift is expected, but if you would like to give something, we have a honeymoon fund set up in our registry.
Plus ones are by invitation only. If your plus one has not been invited, please check with us and we’ll let you know if they can be included.
