On a cold winter night in Newark, New Jersey, we both happen to be overnighting at the same Crashpad (pilot housing for those not familiar). Mike was on reserve and I was in between trips and when I came into the house, I made small talk with a few people in the living room including Mike. After getting changed, I came back downstairs to hang out and watch TV. A couple hours later Mike and I were the only two left on the couch talking and he sat down next to me and held my hand. After only a couple hours of conversation, I was already crazy about this man and the fact that he was holding my hand made me melt!!!! I just knew there was something special between us and considering we are planning a wedding now... well, I WAS RIGHT!!!! ❤️
Erin & I had just returned to Atlanta after a quick trip to visit her Mom in Maryland. I had my proposal all planned out; When we have to build our schedules to have time off together, there is always planning ahead! I certainly had things planned out when I asked Erin to get a few days off with me in the beginning of the month to come down to Atlanta. We planned a nice night out in Atlanta, and got all dressed up for our date night, we went to a fancy dinner, and I planned on proposing after dinner in Piedmont Park. But by the time we left the restaurant, It had turned cold, windy, and rainy!! So I kept the ring in my pocket, and we went home. The next day was much, much nicer, after lunch, we took a walk into the park, and we stopped at the top of the hill, overlooking Midtown Atlanta, near a pavilion with fountains in the background, I got down on my knee, and asked Erin to marry me! (Spoiler alert, she said YES!)
