This unique cool climate region specializes in growing grapes for Sparkling Wines, Riesling, and Pinot Noir, and is known for its Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and several French-American and Native American varietals.
If you'd like to enjoy the outdoors while you're here, there are many great hiking spots each within an hour or so of Geneva. If history is your thing, consider visiting the Women's Rights National Historic Park in Seneca Falls, about 20 minutes from Geneva and 40 minutes from Penn Yan. Fun fact: The first Women’s Rights Convention in the US was held in Seneca Falls, NY on July 19-20, 1848, calling for women's equality and suffrage.
Check out the New York State Fair: a celebration of delicious food, fascinating exhibits, captivating entertainment, with animal showcases, hundreds of attractions, midway rides, and dozens of big-name entertainers. The fairgrounds are about a 50 minute drive from Geneva, and fair tickets are super affordable!
