Hotel
Our recommendation for a place in town to stay overnight!
Hotel
Alternatively if guests want to splurge for a night, can stay up the road from the reception venue if they choose. There is no hotel block for this location.
Train
The Greenwich Main Station is located less than a mile (just under 1,3 Kilometers) up the road from the reception area, and can take you north to Stamford, CT if you choose to stay there, or into Manhattan if you prefer to book your stay in the city! Traveling to NYC from Greenwich: The Metro-North Railroad Line can take you through the Bronx and Harlem, to the final stop in Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan. Grand Central is conveniently located within walking distance from major sites. Please see our Things to Do page for more info! Trains run at least every hour and depending on the time, can get you into Manhattan in a little under 60 min. Please see the schedule by clicking the 'View' button for exact times and travel duration. For international travelers staying locally in CT, it's highly recommended to visit Manhattan by train to avoid traffic! One more tip: avoid traveling at PEAK hours. These are heavily traveled times and it will cost you elbow room and some $$$
Flight
One big city, three very different airports. Here's more information on each one as you search for flights with the option New York, NY, All Airports (NYC). Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Newark, New Jersey Newark Airport is second furthest of the New York City airports from Manhattan and the furthest drive from CT, but is a hub for Austrian Airlines. There are direct flights from Vienna (and sometimes pretty good deals). It is generally the least busy of the three NYC airports. John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Queens, New York The furthest airport from Manhattan, second furthest drive to CT. This is our other international airport for the tri-state area. It's a nice airport and easier to navigate but it's also New York's busiest airport (keep this in mind for security lines and check in when flying back!)
Flight
LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Queens, New York NYC's bustling domestic airport and the closest drive to Greenwich or into the city. The airport plans to finish the seemingly never-ending renovation this spring, so you might get to enjoy it in its full glory if you choose to fly out of LaGuardia. This also means your taxi driver might be in a better mood when exiting the former maze that is LGA. For our German speaking visitors, click "View" for a comprehensive write up on all three airports.
Flight
For those flying within the U.S. that would like an quicker trip from the airport to Greenwich, booking a flight into Westchester is a possibility. The airport is very small and is an 18 minute drive away from Greenwich.
Travel Note
It is up to the guests if they choose to rent a car, but it is not necessarily a must. The train offers direct access to and from Manhattan, and Lyft, Uber, etc are popular in Greenwich. If guests would like to explore New England or plan to travel beyond the tri-state area, a rental car would your best bet. In terms of traveling from the airport to Greenwich, rental cars can be hired out at the airports. Otherwise, there multiple options in order to get to Greenwich via Manhattan. Taxis directly to Greenwich from JFK will be the most expensive option with a guestimate at 100 USD. If you're traveling in a group, this might work for you. Uber or Lyft will be slightly cheaper, but still costly. Other reasonable options include traveling via Manhattan to Connecticut. By taking the subway, train, taxi or airport shuttle first into the city, you can make your way to Metro-North at Grand Central and travel up. Clicking "View" will link you to options for traveling from JFK into the city.
