Our Origin Story

To set the scene, it was intern year of residency on a crisp January day when Justin and Erin first met. Like any great modern love story, for Justin and Erin it was basically love at first sight... on Hinge. Despite working 80+ hours in the same building, they had never met before. It was decided that their first date would be for drinks at Old Nick's local dive bar, and what a night it was! Billiards, line dancing, and Sour Monkeys were plentiful, and neither of them wanted the night to end. On the way home, Erin called her now Matron of Honor, Harper, and told her that she thought she had met someone special. Justin immediately after the date texted his friends, "The Core Four," and recapped a night for the books and what he thought was the start of something great. Weeks passed and Erin and Justin were spending all of their (albeit extremely limited) time off together trying new restaurants, hiking, and of course watching NBA basketball. They decided to make it official, and never looked back. In August of 2024, Justin asked if Erin would be up for breakfast and a walk through Reynolda Gardens, one of their favorite spots. They grabbed breakfast at Penny Path Crepes (Erin ate all of hers and half of Justin's crepe, due to a mysterious loss of appetite on his part) and then set out for a stroll in the gardens. While walking, Justin said that he had a surprise for the weekend and pulled out an envelope from his pocket. Erin opened the envelope to find a letter with a promise to always be a great team, like LeBron and Wade '12. Justin was down on one knee and Erin joyously and tearfully accepted! They were able to celebrate later that day with friends and family in an amazing surprise engagement party that Justin had coordinated. Justin and Erin decided to celebrate their commitment to one another first with just their parents, grandparents, and siblings. On May 17, 2025 Erin and Justin were married in an intimate ceremony at The Polasek Museum's historic Capen House. Overlooking the lake and gorgeous sculpture gardens, Erin's dad officiated the ceremony to officially tie the knot. Brandon photographed, Jefferson played guitar, and of course the grandmas, Elbia and Barbara, were the best flower girls. They all celebrated afterwards with a champagne toast and a delicious Italian dinner at Armando's, a family favorite in Winter Park. It was an absolutely perfect day! We would not be here today if it weren't for the love and support from our family and friends. We are SO excited to celebrate big with all of you in March! Thank you for being part of our lives and this special celebration. See you at The Mint!
