What started out as an experiment—customizing a working farm around the interests of children and families has settled into a place to explore, dream, grow, learn, and connect with others. In serving the community the past decade we have confirmed: nature, animals, imaginative play, and wonder play a huge role in nurturing our souls; not just our children’s, but adults as well. Wooo hoo! As caretakers of this dirt, we are honored to witness these magical moments that you and your family will cherish forever. And if you are new to Sunflower Farm, you have yet to see it is actually a gem in the rough. Not polished and perfect; but real and organic. Here, nothing is commercial or staged—warm from the sun. Chickens run loose—burrowing in the cozy dirt. Perhaps a baby bird has fallen from the nest and is waiting to be rescued. An orphaned lamb nurses from a bottle. These vast Sunflower skies, century old trees and green fields of alfalfa welcome you! You are home.

The Dougherty Museum houses a collection of beautifully restored antique automobiles, including models powered by steam, electricity and early internal combustion types. Many of the cars date back 100 years and are in running order. Among the museum’s highlights are several Stanley Steamers, a 1902 Mobile Steamer owned by Boulder pioneer Andrew J. Macky, several phonographs invented by Thomas Edison, and late 19th century and early 20th century farm equipment.
At Wibby Brewing, we start with traditional German lager brewing principles and add the American craft twist. Our craft lagers are brewed with German malt, American hops, and Rocky Mountain water. Cold fermentation and enhanced conditioning allow for our lagers to be bright and full-flavored with a crisp finish. The tasteful result is a collection of unique American lagers that few breweries in the craft beer community have explored. Cans of our Lightshine Helles, Wibby IPL, Moondoor Dunkel and Lightshine Radler, as well as our seasonal Double Dunkel, are available in our taproom! Wibtoberfest can be found for a limited time in a few stores! Can't decide? Grab a Lager Love Mixed 12-Pack!
Union Reservoir is a 736 acre body of water providing many outdoor recreational activities. Originally called Calkins Lake, the reservoir was carved out during the last glacial age and is one of only a few natural lakes in Colorado. In 1903, the Union Ditch Company began drilling a tunnel to release water into the St. Vrain Creek. According to Colorado water law, that made Union a true reservoir. Fee will be $12 per vehicle because of labor day

They are Boulder’s most iconic landmark, and you’ll see their likeness in business logos and artwork throughout town. Whether frosted with snow, cloaked in fog, or glowing warm and red under sunny skies, the Flatirons offer the quintessential Boulder view. Once you snap a few shots of them from afar, head toward the foothills to explore them up close. You can help protect their natural beauty by remembering these Mountain Manners.

Experience Boulder like a local. The Boulder Farmers Market has become a weekly ritual for Boulderites. Established in 1986 by a handful of local farmers looking to sell farm-fresh produce directly to the public, the Boulder Farmers Market is now the largest in Colorado. As a grower-only market, shoppers are guaranteed the best selection of locally grown, seasonal produce, eggs, cheeses, meats, herbs, flowers, wines and gourmet food products available in Boulder County, most of which is organically or naturally grown/produced. They also get to meet and learn directly from the farmer how their food was grown, when it was picked, how to keep it fresh and, in many cases, new ideas on how to prepare and enjoy it. Architecturally stunning and full of lovely gathering spaces, the CU campus is worth a stroll through just to admire the setting. But there are also a few attractions that are worthy of your can't-miss list, too: Old Main (the school's original building dating back to 1876), Mary Rippon Theatre (home stage for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival), Macky Auditorium and Fiske Planetarium being chiefly among them.
