Aloha! We’re FINALLY getting married!

How often do you hear someone say they met their true love at the beach while on vacation? The story of how we met was fun and romantic, beach scene c’mon what could be more romantic? So we met on Maui July 12, 2014, I was there to be in my friend's wedding and Joey was there on a vacation with his family. We were both on the beach in front of the Honua Kai Resort when we first met and where coincidentally both of us were staying at. Joey was skim boarding with his friends while I was relaxing on the beach with my mom. One of the guys with him offered the skimboard for me to try. I took the opportunity so I could talk to Joey afterwards, since he was being shy. Afterwards we hung out by the pool along with Joey's best friend Aaron. Crazy thing too was that his hotel room was one floor below to the right and we could wave to each other from the balcony. From that day forward we spent everyday at the beach together until I departed the island. We stayed connected long distance since Joey lived in Oregon and I lived in California at the time. We eventually moved in together in downtown Portland and then moved to Santa Cruz once Joey graduated from Portland State University. On May 9, 2018 Joey proposed to me on Kaanapali Beach one of his favorite spots to skimboard in maui. Finally we picked a date and getting married after being together for 7 years (My lucky number 7) in Maui! Met in Maui, engaged in Maui, and now getting Maui'd in Maui!
