Flight
Flight recommendations: For those travelling from the USA, please note that most flights leave continental USA during the evening and land in London the following morning. As such, we would recommend where possible, you fly out (at the latest) Thursday evening. This will allow you a day to travel to Oxford and adjust to time zones, without risk of delays the morning of the wedding. Travel requirements: 1) UK visitors must now complete an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) prior to travelling to the UK. This can be done quickly online and costs $20. Link: https://uketa.com/ 2) Please ensure your passports have >6 months before they expire.
Travel Note
Please note there are several ways to get to Oxford from London Heathrow. Our personal recommendation would be the airline bus! 1) Oxford Airline Bus: a direct coach which runs from Heathrow to Oxford City centre. It runs 24/7, and takes about 90 minutes. The coach has AC, USB charging and wifi. A flexible return ticket (with luggage) starts at around $60. https://www.theairline.co.uk 2) Train: if you prefer to travel by train, from Heathrow you can get the Heathrow Express train directly from terminals 3 or 5 to London Paddington station in 15 minutes. From here, you can get a direct train to Oxford in under one hour. This would also be a good travel option if you want to stop through London! Oxford Station is a 15-minute walk from the church. There are also taxis available here. 3) Private transfer: if public transport isn't for you, you may wish to consider a private transfer! Oxford is about a one hour drive directly from the airport. You can find a number of private transfer companies on google for a quote.

This Premier Inn is a 10/15 minute drive outside the city centre. It has plenty of parking and is relatively easy to get taxis to/from. This is a reliable chain hotel (similar to a Holiday Inn) with convenient breakfast options. The Botley location will be slightly cheaper than its city centre counterpart.

Rental Car
Oxford is sadly not the most car-friendly city, and central parking is quite limited due to permit zones. As such you cannot rely on street parking. The council have also just introduced a new congestion zone charge for some central Oxford roads - which you can read more about here: https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/transport-and-travel/oxfords-temporary-congestion-charge-cars/pay-congestion-charge. For those considering driving into Oxford, we would advise considering the following car parks below: 1) Oxford Parkway Park and Ride: Oxford has a number of park and ride locations outside the city centre, with buses that run into town. This costs around £10/day of parking. https://www.oxford.gov.uk/watereatonparkandride 2) Hinksey Park Car Park: 15 minute walk to the church. Costs around £15/day. You can leave your car here overnight. However, this is a small car park and will fill up quickly on the weekends. 3) City of Oxford College (OX1 1SA): This secondary/high school is located right behind Westgate, the main shopping centre in town and a short walk from the church. They are open 7.45am–5.30pm on Saturdays and it costs £6 for the full day. This is one of the best value car parks in Oxford; however, this fills up quickly on weekends and you would likely need to get here early in the morning to get a space. You also cannot leave your car here overnight. However, this might be a good option if you wish to drive from the church to the reception venue.
