Erin and Colin met in June 2016. At that point, Colin had recently returned from basic training for the National Guard. Erin had just completed the last day of school for her second year of teaching. The two met during a night out at a popular Thursday night gathering in Charlotte called "Alive After Five". The night they met, Colin promised to take Erin to her favorite restaurant at the time, Cowfish. A few weeks later, the two went to Cowfish for their first date that ended up lasting five hours. Erin received a text message during the date asking where she was, as she had made plans to meet friends following the date. She repliedto her sidekick, Boy Aaron, "Still on date. I'm getting married." Five years and an ongoing global pandemic later, the couple will be heading down the aisle.
