Erin and Brett met at Elmira College in the fall of 2012. Both members of the EC lacrosse teams, both Criminal Justice majors, their paths didn't really cross until Erin asked a mutual friend for Brett's number, and made the first move. Brett knew Erin as the nerd who sat in the front of the class, and Erin knew Brett as the guy who was always kicking people out of parties in 1B. Over the next couple of years, Erin and Brett both pursued their own paths and developed a friendship, one which had a lot of underlying and unspoken feelings. Finally, Brett broke the ice and asked Erin to be his girlfriend in April of 2014 (conveniently), right before she graduated from Elmira. Some might say that this timing was made possible by a “Love Chakra” perfume that Erin’s roommate, Sami, gave her – it certainly didn’t hurt. Regardless of timing, or what would come next, Erin and Brett both knew that they were the perfect match for one another. The majority of the first year of their relationship was long-distance, made up of iMessage, FaceTime, and a wonderful Christmas spent in England. Once they made it through that time, they knew they didn’t want to be apart again. Erin moved home in 2015, and in 2016 Erin and Brett moved into their first apartment in Manchester and adopted their first fur baby, Luna. 2017 came with their first major investment as a couple in the form of their own home! In 2018, Brett popped the question that he already knew the answer to, and they decided on forever. Fast forward to 2019, Erin and Brett welcomed their second fur baby, Jax into the family. The last six years have been full of love, laughter, support, and encouragement, and a fair share of arguments (like who is the better bowler), eye rolls (mostly from Erin), and challenging each other to be better versions of themselves. Erin and Brett cannot wait to see what the next chapter holds, and are so thankful for all of the family and friends who continue to support them along the way.
