How We Met...

Bzzzz....Bzzzz...Bumble

Though Austin and Erin were both unsure of the online dating world, Covid through a wrench in meeting anyone "the old fashioned way". After swiping left on almost every eligible bachelor in Spartanburg County, Erin realized that her match may not exist within the state lines of South Carolina. And thus, she expanded her search. *ping* In comes a match from a man in Morganton, NC. Based on his profile answers, he seemed like a sweet gentleman that held many of the same values that Erin did. Pictures, however, told a story that just wasn't adding up. Was this person a catfish? Were they 21 or 30? WHO was the person cropped out of the professional photo? WHY did they have tattoos of guns displayed? These were all questions that Erin asked herself, which led to hesitation, and ultimately, letting the match time expire. This, however, would not do for Austin! No, no. For those that don't know, the woman must reach out first on Bumble. So, Austin used his credits to bypass this rule and ask Erin one simple question, "Hi, just wondering why you let our time expire?". This was new territory for Erin. No one had ever questioned an expiration of time or needed clarification. She liked the polite confidence that came with this question and so she answered, "Well, you have tattoos of guns, so I feel our interests may be different. I also can't get a good read on your pictures, are some of them really old?". And the rest was history. From Bumble, to talking/texting on the phone, to meeting in person, their relationship continued to grow. Austin is an old romantic, so they met weekly for "Sunday after Seven" date nights. On October 4, 2020, after meeting her family (yes, that's right, I said AFTER meeting her family) at a winery in Hendersonville for one of her sister's gigs, Austin asked if Erin wanted to make the relationship official. They spent a year and a half traveling between North Carolina and South Carolina to visit one another. Erin traveled to Indiana to meet Austin's family. Austin traveled, well, all kinds of places to meet Erin's family and friends. After adopting a second husky, Zeke, they realized they could probably handle anything together. Now they are the proud parents of 2 puppos, 4 kitties, caretakers of an outdoor old Cully-Bear kitty, and have an adorable home together in Spartanburg. Who knew a simple swipe right...and some extended time...could lead here!
