A day spent in Hanalei Bay is not a day wasted! It is a little town on the north shore, right next to the bay. The town has great restaurants, shave ice, places to buy souvenirs, and is only a short walk away from the beach. Bring an ice chest (with beverages of your choice) snacks, and swimming gear, and you're set up for the perfect day. I would also suggest renting paddle boards and kayaks for day use for a little extra fun!
Another beautiful beach! It is located on the south shore, and there is a reef you can check out with some snorkel gear. There is also a great trail that goes along the beach that will lead you to a few other gorgeous locations. It is right next to the town of Poipu, with wonderful shops and restaurants to dine at after a day of swimming.
This beach is great for those of you who would like to spend a little more time in the waves. If you feel confident with your swimming skills, bring a boogie board and (in the safe area!!!) catch some waves! There is also a trail along this beach that goes up the coast. You can walk, run, and even rent some bikes in the town of Kapa'a which is located next to the beach.
If you need a break from the ocean, this canyon is the place to go. It has a stunning view with multiple hikes along the road to the top. Bring your cameras!
This is a beautiful (and challenging) hike. You can either hike up the west or east sides of the mountain. If you are hiking up it in the morning, I highly suggest going on the west side! You will love the view once you get to the top!
Coffee lovers have to go here! This place features tours of their coffee plantation, tons of free samples, a gift shop, and of course, their delicious coffee
This beach is literally at the end of the road. Travel all the way to the north shore and keep going until you reach the dead end. At the beach, you will find the trail head of the Kalalua Trail. This trail is very strenuous, but also very beautiful. Hike two miles to Hanakapi'ai Beach, and two more miles to Hanakapi'a Falls. This hike is for experienced hikers only!
This is the BEST ice cream I have ever had. There are multiple locations on the island for this ice cream shop, but this is the closest one to where we will be staying!
