We met at the West Commons dorm room at Oklahoma State University. We hung out with the same friend group, and I (Madie) had a pretty big crush on him. Erik started texting me over winter break, and we went and saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens for our first date. We had a blast! After a few more dates, Erik asked me to be his girlfriend on January 10, 2016. The rest is history!

Erik took me on a date to see Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. Ever since our first date, Star Wars had been our thing. He took me to campus, and proposed to me in front of Edmond Low Library. He had been planning this with both of our families, so they were waiting to see us after his proposal. His sister Karin took pictures of us, and we met up with our families at Da Vinci's (my favorite restaurant in Stillwater). It was the perfect day!
