The Location: 146 High Street “146” was home to many unforgettable days and nights. It was your classic frat house. Floors coated with beer, red Solo cups scattered throughout, bass blaring music and not a single working toilet in site. Truly romantic. The Moment: Unclear The exact date and details are blurry but Kerri’s collegiate soccer career just ended so it must have been November and she was ready to have a night out with friends. Meanwhile Erik, a regular at 146, was probably in the basement playing his favorite song, Levels, completely unaware that he was about to meet his future wife. The two met, shared a drink(s) and proceeded to spend the rest of the party together…and while the particulars of the night are a little hazy, one thing was very clear…they both felt an undeniable connection. The Text: "Hey, did you really break your foot last night?" 48 hours later, they reunited at a sorority formal and despite both having other dates, they once again went on to spend the entire event together….until their night came to a rather abrupt end when Kerri took a bit of a tumble down some stairs. But Kerri wasn’t the only one who fell that night… The next morning Erik woke up concerned and yet also eager. He needed to make sure she was okay, that was for certain, but he also felt encouraged knowing he had the perfect icebreaker message to send to the girl he was falling for….“Hey, did you really break your foot last night?” Kerri was being fitted for a walking boot when she finally responded to Erik's text. And while he was relieved to hear that her foot was sprained and not broken, he was most relieved that his message wasn’t left unanswered. The Rest: Is History They spent the remainder of their senior year falling in love and continued to do so in the years that followed. From New Jersey to Massachusetts to New York and back to Massachusetts, they stayed true to the undeniable connection they first felt 8 years prior. Then while living together in Boston, after Kerri pestered Erik for months about getting a puppy and eventually getting married in Martha's Vineyard, Erik chose to execute on the latter request. Under the disguise of an anniversary celebration, he intricately planned a fairy-tale proposal in Newport, RI. Following a romantic dinner, Erik surprised Kerri with a photo album detailing their entire journey together and as she flipped to the last page, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. Spoiler alert…she said yes (but is still waiting on the puppy)!!
