Things To Do

When you are in town, we want to make sure you have a few recommendations for the day before, in-between and after our wedding. We hope you enjoy some of our recommendations!

STICKS, a great restaurant with a better view and bagpipes

2700 17 Mile Drive, Del Monte Forest, CA 93953
, (831) 298-5898

If you are in town Friday afternoon, we recommend stopping here after driving 17 Mile Drive (the only toll road west of the Mississippi) for a few appetizers (or dinner if you're into that thing). This is a wonderful spot on the golf course with a great view of the Pacific. At sundown everyday, they have a bagpiper walk the path and play his lovely tunes. Go explore the beach and have fun!

La Playa Carmel Sunday Happy Hour

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93921
, (831) 624-6476

This is our little secrete spot for all you folks staying through Sunday. This stays between us, yes all of us. At the bar here they have what we call a very special happy hour. There is a ton of history at this beautiful place and happy hour on Sunday's is part of it. $0.10 Happy Hour! They only accept payment in dimes so come prepared. Mingling and sharing tables is what this is all about. Everyone is there for the experience so go have fun!

Cannery Row

Cannery Row, Monterey, CA 93940

Go explore this historical area of Monterey! There are a tone of great shops and restaurants to explore. Don't eat too much on the 18th!

Carmel Beach

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93923

If you have time for a quick beach session while you are in town, we highly suggest Carmel Beach.

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

62 California 1, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93923
, (831) 624-4909

This is a great place for a nature walk along the coast. Go enjoy some peace and quite at this state park.

Alvarado Street (Downtown Monterey)

Alvarado Street, Monterey, CA 93940

The beautiful downtown Monterey strip is a beautiful walk with great shops and amazing bites. Walk past the Portola Hotel and you will find the Warf and harbor. Soak in some sun and enjoy the shops in this area.

Lovers Point Park

631 Ocean View Boulevard, Pacific Grove, CA 93950
, (831) 648-5730

This is another beautiful beach. Located in Pacific Grove, it is a great place to jump in the water or relax at the park. Have fun walking the recreational trail or grab a bite at the Beach House.

Pacific Grove Golf Links

77 Asilomar Avenue, Pacific Grove, CA 93950
, (831) 648-5775

For all of you that need to get a round of golf in while you are in town, go enjoy a reasonably priced round of golf at PG Links, also know locally as the poor mans Pebble. You will know exactly what that means when you start the back 9. Tee it high and let it fly!

Schooners Coastal Kitchen & Bar

400 Cannery Row, Monterey, CA 93940
, (831) 372-2628

If you are going to feel like me (Erik) on Sunday morning and in need of a bit of "hair of the dog," stop here when you eventually wake up for one of the best boody mary's in town. They don't open for breakfast so don't expect anything before 11AM. However, the bloody mary goes with everything on the menu, trust me.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

886 Cannery Row, Monterey, CA 93940
, (831) 648-4800

Don't need to say much here. Just go if you have time.

The Meatery

1534 Fremont Boulevard, Seaside, CA 93955
, (831) 656-8810

If you are looking for an exceptional sandwich come here. It's a whole in the wall with great meat and amazing sandwiches.

For all the days along the way
