FAQs

What you need to know to prepare for our Indian wedding in the foothills of Colorado.
Question

Colorado is at altitude, should I do anything to prepare?

Answer

1. Hydrate! Colorado's arid climate and altitude will dehydrate you faster than you are used to. Drinks lots of water and electrolytes (Liquid IV or other electrolyte drinks really help)! 2. Bring lots of sunscreen! You are closer to the sun at elevation, so make sure to always apply sunscreen and apply often. 3. If you rent a car, it takes 85 gas 4. Make sure you do not exert too hard - eat and drink water!

Question

I don't own any Indian clothing... what should I wear for the wedding ceremony?

Answer

There are penalty of places to order Indian clothing online! Here are some suggested sites: - Lashkaara - House of Indya - Etsy - Go to Edison, NJ or Hicksville, NY - or just ask an Indian friend for help If you live near New York, New Jersey, or any another metropolitan area, chances are there is an Indian clothing store near you where you can try on and purchase outfits. If you are unable to purchase Indian clothing, please wear formal, colorful wedding attire!

Question

Is there public transportation to get around around Denver and to the foothills?

Answer

Yes... but it is very limited. If you plan on extending your stay to sightsee or hike, it is strongly recommended to rent a car!

Question

Is it worth staying longer or arriving earlier to sightsee or hike?

Answer

YES! Colorado is beautiful and there is so much to see and do within driving distance of Denver. The week following the wedding is July 4th, and you may have that Friday off... so perhaps stay the week! Many popular destinations or hikes require permits to reserve in advance - be prepared and book those in advance!

Question

When is the best time to book, and where should I fly?

Answer

Whatever is most cost-effective for you, but both Denver and Colorado Springs may work for you. Likely booking sometime in early 2026 will be cheapest. But if you see a good deal before then, snatch it!

Question

Will Jigar and Erika make me do a choreographed dance?

Answer

The chances are high
