FAQs and Trolley Schedule

Question

When do I need to RSVP and what events will you need my RSVP for?

Answer

We ask that you RSVP at your earliest convenience, but no later than June 12th. Prompt RSVPs will help us ensure you have the best guest experience on our big day. You can RSVP by scanning the QR code on your invitation or by clicking on the RSVP tab on our wedding website. Guests will be asked to RSVP to our welcome party, ceremony, reception, and late-night after-party!

Question

What is the Trolley Schedule for Guests on the big day?

Answer

Ride in style with our wedding-day trolley! The trolley will be available to transport guests to our wedding at the following times. Please note, the trolley times may vary or even run early depending on day-of traffic. Additionally, the trolley's maximum capacity is 27 people and space is limited. We recommend arriving at the trolley stop at least 15-20 mins prior to your departure time. 11:45 AM: Wedding Guests Pick-Up at Village By The Sea 2:00 PM: Wedding Guests Pick-Up at St. Ann's Church 2:15 PM: Wedding Guests Pick-Up at St. Ann's Church 2:30 PM: Wedding Guests, Family, and Wedding Party Pick-Up at St. Ann's Church 9:15 PM: Wedding Guest Departure at The Colony Hotel 10:15 PM: Wedding Guest Departure at The Colony Hotel 11:00 PM: Wedding Guest Departure at The Colony Hotel 12:00 AM: Final Departure at The Colony Hotel

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We are requesting that our guests wear formal or black-tie-optional attire to our ceremony and reception. Think of our wedding as a “ball by the sea.” We ask that men wear suits with ties and dress shoes, and that ladies wear mid-length or floor-length dresses. The weather can be warm in Maine in the summer, so be sure to dress comfortably and bring your dancing shoes. The majority of the wedding will be indoors, with the exception of cocktail hour, which will be on a covered porch. We can’t wait to see your coastal couture on our wedding date.

Question

How do I make my meal selections?

Answer

All meal selections will be made directly through your electronic RSVP form. Please include any food allergies and dietary restrictions in your RSVP as well.

Question

Is the clam chowder gluten free?

Answer

Yes, the clam chowder served at our reception will be gluten-free! However, we ask that you list any dietary restrictions on your RSVP so we can remind the hotel kitchen to make accommodations to the best of their ability.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

There is plenty of parking available at both St. Ann’s Episcopal Church and The Colony Hotel. If you want to get your steps in and enjoy some scenic ocean views, St. Ann’s is only a 10-minute walk from the Colony. However, you will be making an uphill trip if you choose to park at the Colony and walk to the church. Guests are welcome to park in the gravel lot adjacent to St. Ann’s, as well as in the main parking lots on the Colony Hotel grounds. There are two parking lots at the Colony, located at both the front and the back of the hotel.

Question

What airport should I fly into and where should I stay?

Answer

All travel information can be found on the travel tab of our website! We highly recommend booking lodging and transportation ASAP.

Question

Will there be any day of transportation provided to wedding guests?

Answer

We plan to have a round-trip trolley provide shuttle service from our hotel block lodging, “Village By The Sea,” to St. Ann’s Episcopal Church and The Colony Hotel. However, seats on the trolley will be reserved for wedding party members, and all remaining seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. (The maximum capacity on each trolley ride is 27 people).

Question

Does Southern Maine have easy Uber access?

Answer

Kennebunkport, Wells, and Ogunquit are quintessential beach towns. It truly is like stepping back in time, which also means Uber rides are rare and limited. We highly recommend that our guests rent cars using our rental code (see our travel tab for more info) to see the most of Maine! You can also connect with RIDE Maine to arrange wedding-day transit: https://www.ridemekpt.com/. The wedding trolley will also be available, but seats will be reserved for bridal party members, and all remaining seats will be on a first-come, first-served basis..

Question

How far is Village By The Sea from the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Village By The Sea (Hotel Block Lodging) is only 15-20 minutes from both St. Ann's Church and the Colony Hotel. However, please plan for "beach traffic". Red lights and back-ups are common on route 1, so please plan accordingly.

Question

Do I get a plus 1?

Answer

While we would love to celebrate with all of your loved ones, we are limited on the amount of plus 1's we are able to provide at our wedding. All guests invited under your name will be included on your RSVP form. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

Where can I find the best lobster?

Answer

Now for the fun question! Honestly, you can’t go wrong anywhere in Maine for some “lobstah.” Barnacle Billy’s in Perkins Cove is a beloved restaurant of the Forslund family and a common summer vacation date night spot for Erika and Alex. Check out our “Things to Do” page for lots of recommendations to start planning your vacation, Forslund style!"
