12 years ago, not long after moving to Charlotte, I lived next door to a sweet girl named Ann in a large apartment complex. We would often chat in the hallway when we got home from work at the same time, and would always say we should get a drink sometime as we were both single - but never did! We eventually moved out, but not before becoming friends on social media. Flash forward 10 years, to June of 2020 and 3 months into the pandemic, I get a message from Ann on Instagram that said "Hey, so this is totally random, but are you dating anyone? A great friend of my husband's is recently single." She told me he had three teenage boys and two dogs, and somehow I didn't run, but said "Sure! Give him my number!" He waited a couple weeks to reach out, at which point I was quarantining for the birth of my nephew and then going home to Ohio for another two weeks once he was born to meet him. I told Todd we couldn't meet for a month, and at that point, HE didn't run. We began to text, and then talk, and then FaceTime for HOURS a day. We felt like teenagers again. When we look back at that time, we both honestly think we fell in love before we ever met. Four weeks to the day from our first conversation, he came to pick me up for our first date. The connection was instantaneous and we have been inseparable ever since!
