The Art Institute of Chicago
We're just a bit biased, but the Art Institute of Chicago is a must-see. Check out the Caillebotte exhibition while you're there-- Sam designed it!
CAC River Cruise
Our favorite way to see the city on a sunny day. It never gets old! We recommend the Chicago Architecture Center's tour, and that tickets are ordered in advance.
Lakefront Trail
The lakefront trail is a fantastic way to spend the day biking or walking. Attractions along the trail include: Montrose Beach, Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary, Lincoln Park Conservatory, Lincoln Park Zoo, North Avenue Beach.
Chicago Water Taxi to Chinatown
This is a fun way to get from downtown Chicago to Chinatown, one of our favorite neighborhoods. The taxi drops you off at Ping Tom Memorial Park at the Pagoda. While you're there, get Dim sum! Check out MingHin or Hing Kee, they won't disappoint.
The Green Mill
This is a Chicago icon — a historic jazz club serving live music and strong drinks since the early 1900s. It is the perfect spot for a late-night drink, live jazz, and a taste of Chicago history. No reservations & cash only!
Chicago Magic Lounge
This speakeasy-style magic venue hosts incredible magicians for table-side tricks and full-stage shows. Fun fact: Eric’s cousin Danny even moonlights here — you might catch him in action!
Pequod's Pizza
If you're looking to cross deep dish pizza off your Chicago bucket list, this is the place.
Margie's Candies
Ice cream parlor that has been around for over a hundred years. Eric thinks it is important for everyone to know: The Beatles ate here once.
Logan Square
We both chose to call Logan Square home before we met, and it continues to be our all-time favorite neighborhood in Chicago. With plenty of parks, coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shops, there is no shortage of things to do.
Logan Square Farmers Market
Every Sunday, the community shows up for this awesome market. Don't need fresh produce? That's fine! The market offers amazing local prepared foods and artisan goods.
Longman & Eagle
We went here on our first date. It's still our favorite place to grab a drink. You can get it all here- cheap beer, great cocktails and fine dining.
Beautiful Rind
We love treating ourselves to a cheese and charcuterie pairing and bottle of natural wine here.
The Brewed
Our favorite coffee shop in our neighborhood owned by great friends! Eric worked on the sign and interior of this horror themed coffee shop. It is connected to Bric-a-Brac Records, a record shop & toy store, where you'll find Eric's handiwork as well.
Avondale Bowl
Our neighborhood bowling alley. This retro spot is too fun, and you don't need to bowl to enjoy the bar!
Consignment Lounge
A cocktail lounge and vintage store all in one. We love the vibes here and couldn't recommend this quaint & quirky bar enough.
