We’re getting married!/Nos vamos a casar!

Erick and Jocelyn have been neighbors since they were 4/5 years old. The very first time they met was when Jocelyn’s mom took her and her sister to receive a haircut from Erick’s aunt who was living at his house at the time. Jocelyn remembers seeing a lot of people she didn’t know and one boy in particular who she soon found out would be going to a different school for kindergarten (Erick). While Erick does not remember this encounter (his memory is terrible by the way) Jocelyn remembers the curiosity she felt knowing there was another neighborhood kid who was her age. It was only a year later that they would eventually attend the same school and be in the same first grade class with Miss Van Kreunigan. The adventure was just beginning… Erick y Jocelyn han sido vecinos desde que tenían 4/5 años. La primera vez que se conocieron fue cuando la mamá de Jocelyn la llevó a ella y su hermana a la casa de Erick para que una tía de él les cortara el pelo. Jocelyn se recuerda de haber visto a muchas personas que no conocía pero en particular a un niño (Erick) que tenía su misma edad pero que no iría a la misma escuela que ella. Aunque Erick no se acuerde de este primer encuentro (para los que no saben, la memoria de Erick es muy mala) Jocelyn si se acuerda de que le dio curiosidad al saber que había otro niño en su misma vecindad que tenía la misma edad que ella. Un año después fue que al fin asistieron a la misma escuela y fueron asignados a la misma clase con la señorita Van Kreunigan. La aventura apenas comenzaba…

From the day they were placed in the same first grade class together, there was an immediate connection between Erick and Jocelyn. They found comfort and friendship in each other and at times even annoyed one another in the playground or on the class rug during story time (Erick consistently sang the Spongebob theme song during inappropriate moments and Jocelyn was an incessant hand raiser who never let other students provide the right answer as well). While they would eventually grow up and semi-mature (they’re always going to be kids at heart), two things never changed… their friendship and connection. They were always around for each other’s huge moments in life: accomplishments, failures, and dreams. Regardless of what was happening around them, they always made a point to stay in touch. Desde el primer día que fueron asignados a la misma clase, siempre hubo una conexión entre Erick y Jocelyn. Siempre encontraban consuelo y amistad entre ellos aunque a veces se fastidiaban uno al otro (Erick siempre cantaba la canción de Bob Esponja y Jocelyn era una estudiante que nunca dejaba que otros también dieran respuestas a la maestra). Aunque los dos llegaron a crecer y más o menos madurar (siempre serán niños de corazón), dos cosas nunca cambiaron… su amistad y conexión. Tras el transcurso de los años, siempre estuvieron de apoyo para cada éxito, fracaso, y sueños de cada uno. Aunque estaban ocupados con cosas de la vida, siempre se mantuvieron en contacto.

While Erick and Jocelyn always had this deep connection and bond that was unexplainable to either one of them, they never acted on any of it. They both valued their friendship and any time their friendship seemed like it would cross a line, they always re-centered themselves. Well, that all changed during the fall of 2018. After a few conversations and interactions that left both wondering what could be if their friendship took the next step, they shared their first kiss on October 19th, 2018. While that first kiss can have a story of its own, it marked something for both of them… they both knew that their friendship could never be the same. Before they knew it, they began dating and taking things slow and on February 24, 2019 they officially became boyfriend & girlfriend. Aunque Erick y Jocelyn siempre tenían una conexión y vínculo inexplicable para ambos, nunca hicieron por explorarlo. Los dos valoraban demasiado su amistad para arriesgarla. Pero todo eso cambió en el otoño del 2018. Después de algunas conversaciones e interacciones que les plantó una semilla de curiosidad, por fin tuvieron su primer beso el 19 de Octubre del 2018. Aunque el primer beso puede tener su propia historia, confirmó para cada uno que no pudieran continuar siendo solo amigos. Poco después, comenzaron a salir en citas y tomaron su tiempo para formalizar su relación. Al fin, se hicieron novios el 24 de Febrero del 2019.

Erick and Jocelyn became engaged on December 11, 2021 at the spot of their very first kiss. They were surround by family and their hearts were beyond full! While their entire journey to the alter is one that exceeds the word limit on this website, they can’t wait to celebrate their love with everyone who will be in attendance at their wedding. They have been working extremely hard to put everything together and are excited to see it come to life. They hope to see you all soon and do ask that everyone feel free to ask them questions if they have any. Erick y Jocelyn se comprometieron el 11 de diciembre del 2021 en el lugar de su primer beso. Estaban rodeados por familia y sus corazones estaban tan llenos ese día. Aunque su camino para llegar al altar puede escribirse en todo un libro, no pueden esperar a celebrar su amor con todos que estarán en asistencia en su boda. Han estado trabajando extremadamente duro para poner todo en orden y están muy emocionados de verlo realizarse. Esperan ver a todos muy pronto y les piden que por favor les dejen saber si tienen algunas preguntas.
