Despite our overlapping time at Texas A&M, we didn't cross paths (to our knowledge) until November 2022, when we matched on Hinge. We quickly bonded over our shared joy (and sorrow) over Texas A&M football and made plans to meet but I unfortunately came down with COVID and had to delay our first date for a few weeks. Luckily, Erich is patient and stuck around long enough to meet me at Hoot and Annie in Downtown Round Rock on December 1, 2022. We talked about our family, friends, and life goals, laughing for hours before Erich walked me to my car in the rain and we shared our first kiss together. Fast forward to spring of 2023, Erich had earned a sabbatical at work and invited me to join him on a trip. He left for Spain for a week, and then I met up with him in Lisbon, Portugal, where he told me he loved me for the first time on May 3rd. The next year was filled with laughter, love, and several more trips. We became each other's best friends, confidants, and soulmates. Exactly one year from the day Erich first said "I love you," on May 3, 2024, he took me to Enchanted Rock and proposed. Ever since then, we've been counting down the days to October 11, 2025.
