Travel

There are a few different ways to travel to the Catskills depending on where you’re coming from. Below are the closest airport options, along with rental car and transportation information to help make getting to and around the area easier throughout the weekend.

Nearby Airport Options

Albany International Airport (ALB) is the closest airport to the Catskills, about a 1 hour drive away. It’s a smaller airport, so flight options may be more limited depending on where you’re traveling from, though Chicago does have direct flights. New York City airports, including LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark (EWR), offer more flight options but are about a 2.5 hour drive away. JFK is another option, though typically a bit further depending on traffic.

Rental Cars

Getting Around the Catskills

We highly recommend renting a car for your visit, especially if you are flying in. The airport is the best place to arrange one. Albany is a smaller airport, so rental car inventory can book up early. The Catskills are made up of small mountain towns, and you will need a car to get around throughout the weekend. Uber and Lyft availability in the area is extremely limited and unreliable.
