Parque Nacional Cajas

If you like to hike and can resist a chill in weather, this is a must stop. You will also be able to visit it if you are driving from Guayaquil to Cuenca as the road goes through the park. Make sure to stop at Tres Cruces, the highest point (13,000 feet above water)

The Church of the Shrine — commonly referred to as the Old Cathedral of Cuenca — was the main place of Spanish worship during the time of Spanish colonization in Cuenca, Ecuador. It functions today as the Museum for Religious Art and is located at the Parque Calderon, opposite the New Cathedral.

This recently restored street which runs between the Catedral Nueva and the old seminary was a cañari road which followed the path of the sun. When the Spanish arrived they renamed it after the Virgin Mary’s mother. After being closed for at least 80 years, Calle Santa Ana has been reopened and re-reopened.
