Our Story

Our story begins in the digital age on a little app called Hinge. It was March 6, 2020, just before the world decided to take a collective time-out. We decided to meet at a brewery in South San Francisco, but as fate would have it, the first place was closed. Quick thinking and a need for good conversation led us to another spot nearby. The conversation flowed easily, but Kristin had a minor hesitation—Eric’s man bun. Thankfully, her friend Rebecca was on standby for a “rescue” operation later in the evening. After dissecting the date, Kristin decided that man buns weren't so bad after all. For our second date, Kristin went over to Eric’s place where he ambitiously attempted to cook Aglio e Olio. Picture this: Eric, a hot plate, and a pot of water that took an hour to boil. Despite the odds, the meal was delicious, and it was clear—Kristin was the true chef of the duo. Dating during a pandemic required creativity. From drive-in movie theaters to countless DoorDash deliveries, we made it work. As the world began to reopen, so did our opportunity for adventure. We traveled to Santa Cruz, explored the culinary delights of Disneyland's Food Festival, cheered on the Giants at their games, and had memorable trips to Carlsbad and Vegas. It was in Vegas, amidst the bright lights and endless energy, that we exchanged those three little words: "I love you." After Vegas, Kristin started making the 45-minute trip to San Jose every weekend. We continued to go out, meeting each other’s friends and family. Life was filled with good wine, good food, and great company. On our third anniversary, Eric asked Kristin to move in with him. It wasn’t long before we realized we wanted to move to our favorite area of the South Bay—Campbell. We found the perfect place within walking distance from our favorite watering hole, Orchard City Kitchen. Life continued to be amazing. After our fourth anniversary, we took a trip to sunny Carlsbad for Eric's birthday. On Kristin’s favorite childhood beach, Eric surprised her by proposing. It was the perfect moment, filled with love and pure happiness. From that first pivot at a closed brewery to cooking on hot plates and navigating a pandemic, our journey has been filled with laughter, love, and a few unexpected twists. We can’t wait to see where the next adventure takes us—together.
