Balboa Island

Balboa Island is where Eric used to spend his summer vacations with his family. We recommend Ubering close to the bridge entrance as parking on the island can be very tricky, especially during a holiday weekend. Be sure to stop by Dad's Famous Frozen Banana shop as the chocolate covered frozen banana is Balboa Island's specialty! On the opposite side of the island is the Balboa Ferry where you can take it across to check out various restaurants and bars.

Another great way to tour the canals of Balboa Island/Lido Isle is to do a stand up paddleboard! Not only is it a great way to get a workout in, but also to work on your tan!

Malarky's Pub is Newport's classic dive bar. They serve a great Guinness pour and we will likely end up here once or twice after festivities "officially" end during the wedding weekend.

Disneyland Park

Disneyland has a wonderful downtown area to explore, even if you're not planning on entering the actual theme park. The parks are generally less crowded on the weekdays if you plan on getting in early, but would avoid on the weekends.
