SNOWBIRD SCENIC AERIAL TRAM, ALPINE SLIDE, & MOUNTAIN COASTER
Snowbird's Aerial Tram whisks passengers along a 1.6 mile cable and up 2,900 vertical feet during the 10-minute trip to the top of Hidden Peak. The round-trip can be done in 40 minutes, including about 20 minutes of sightseeing on Hidden Peak, but guests may spend as long as they wish. Escape the heat and enjoy 360 degrees of breathtaking views. Tickets are available on Snowbird's summer activities website. Snowbird is also home to many other summer activities, including an alpine slide, mountain coaster, ropes course, and climbing wall. Snowbird's resort base is a 4-minute drive from the Alta Lodge.
SNOWBIRD'S ROOFTOP POOL AND CLIFF SPA
Relax in the rooftop pool at Snowbird's Cliff Lodge and take in the surrounding mountain views. Day passes are $50 and include the pool, hot tub, fitness center, and access to the Cliff Spa and yoga classes. Classes are an additional $10 each. Make sure to book your reservations ahead of time to ensure they aren't sold out.
HIKING WITHIN LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON
Here are a few of our favorite hikes that can be accessed directly from the Alta Lodge: - Lower Albion Meadows (Easy, 1-mile roundtrip) - Cecret Lake from Albion Basin (Moderate, 5.5 miles, an Alta classic!) - Twin Lakes Pass (Moderate, 2 miles, gorgeous scenery) - Cardiff Pass (Hard, 3 miles, steep with great views) Follow the link below for a summer trail map and up-to-date trail conditions at Alta. Here are a few other closeby options that require a car: - Gloria Falls (Moderate, 2 miles, 5 min drive) - Lisa Falls (Easy, 0.5 miles, 10 min drive) - Bell Canyon Trail to Lower Falls (Moderate, 4.5 miles, 15 min drive) - Lake Blanche (Hard, 7 miles, 25 min drive, one of the top hikes in Utah) Remember to bring sun protection and plenty of water. LIVING ROOM TRAIL
The Living Room Trail is a moderate trail that can either be an out-and-back or loop trail with spectacular views of the city. This hike takes roughly 2 hours and is an excellent spot to catch a sunset. The trailhead is approximately a 40-minute drive from the Alta Lodge.
Main Street PARK CITY
Explore the charming town of Park City. Park City is the home of 3 ski resorts, unique boutique shopping, delicious restaurants, hiking & biking trails, and more. Park City is approximately a 1-hour drive from the Alta Lodge.
Homestead Crater
The Crater is a geothermal spring, hidden beneath a 55-foot tall, beehive-shaped limestone rock located on the Homestead property. The hole at the top of the dome lets in sunlight and fresh air while the interior stays heated by the mineral water at a constant range of 90-96 degrees Fahrenheit. Tickets are available on their website for $15-18/pp for a 40-minute swim session. The driving time from the Alta Lodge to the crater is about an 1 hr 15 min.
