Once upon a time in the digital age, Erica, a chaotic chemist, and Evan, a mechanical engineer with a knack for precision, met online. Little did they know, a few well-placed chemistry puns would lead to a reaction that was completely irreversible. Evan kept his ion the prize, and won Erica’s heart, proving that the right formula really does exist. Their first date was sushi, and let’s just say they shut down the restaurant. When you know, you know! On their second date, Evan took Erica out for a spin in a car he and his best friend built themselves. Evan took the steering wheel off and held it outside the window, and then proceeded to do a burn out on Lake Wheeler Rd.. It was then that Erica knew if he was crazy enough to do that, then he was crazy enough to keep up with her. After only a few months, Evan presented Erica with a promise ring, a beautiful emerald, with a message: “a promise of what’s to come.” Little did they know, this gem would foreshadow the greatest surprise of all! Their daughter, Aurora, was born in May 2024, an emerald is her birth stone. Aurora’s name shines as brightly as her parents’ adventures: inspired by the northern and southern lights. Erica had chased the northern lights portaging the wilds of Northern Canada, while Evan had marveled at the southern lights while working in Antarctica. Together, they now share a daughter whose very name reflects the magic of their shared journeys. After Erica graduated in December 2024, the trio set out to wander the world: 10 countries and 5 U.S. states. They found themselves living aboard a luxury sailboat in remote Indonesian islands, where Evan popped the question at sunset, creating a memory as glowing as Aurora’s namesake lights. While in Bali, Erica and Evan forged their wedding rings by hand together. Each ring is half of the perfect blend of gold and alloy they worked together, a symbol of the love and effort they’ve poured into their life together. Two halves of a greater whole. The greatest part of their journey isn’t just the places they’ve seen. It’s the fact that they travelled hand in hand, through the chaos and the calm, all while growing into each other along the way. Erica brings the wild as the big dreamer who embraces the peace that Evan brings while Evan has become a well seasoned Chaos Wrangler™ as the compass that always leads them home to each other. Now based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Evan and Erica continue to set down deep roots in family as they wander and grow stronger together while always being quite ready for another adventure.
