Erica and Wyatt first knew of each other in high school through mutual friends and attended the same parties everyone seemed to end up at - Erica even tried to set Wyatt up with a friend of hers, never admitting that she secretly thought he was cute herself. They tried hanging out back then, but the timing just wasn't right. Years later, in their late teens/ early 20's, Erica made a bold move and tried to kiss Wyatt at a party... and Wyatt completely dismissed Erica AND the moment. (Rude. But unforgettable - Savage move some may say!) Fast forward to the beginning of 2021, when Erica started spending more time with her younger brother, Collin, and their shared friend group. As fate would have it, Wyatt was often part of that group too. More and more the two quietly flirted, carefully staying in line - after all, Collin was Erica's brother and both of their good friend. Then came Labor Day weekend at the Dayton Rodeo (Yee-Haw). After the rodeo finished that same group of friends headed to the local bar. A few drinks in, Erica finally worked up the courage to ask Wyatt what song he was playing on the jukebox. Wyatt smirked and replied, "You don't really care what music I'm playing - do you wanna go make out?" and just like that, things changed! Well...kinda... We should probably say after a few short days of playing chicken on who would message who first - then things changed! From that night on, Erica and Wyatt started secretly hanging out, getting to know each other in a new way. Wyatt even confided in his best friend Bert, that something was happening between them. Wyatt caught feelings and gave Erica an ultimatum: either they were going to be together, or he was moving on. Erica realized there was no way she wanted to see Wyatt with someone else - and decided to let her feelings show for him. In early spring of 2022, after another great night out with friends, Wyatt told Erica he loved her. Not long after, they officially began dating - proving that sometimes the best love stories just need a little time, a jukebox, and the right moment.
