We met during our final year of high school in 2014 🏫. We always knew of each other throughout the four years of high school, but oddly enough, we never crossed paths. One day in early February 2014, I was walking toward the snack bar to purchase some cookies 🍪 before heading to my next class. Tyson was in line ahead of me when suddenly, some rude girl cut the line and stepped in front of him. Me, being the hero 🦸♀️ that I am, told her to let him go first. He said, “Thank you,” and proceeded toward the snack bar. I don’t know what it was, but I felt something after that encounter — some sort of magnetic 🧲 connection. I was drawn to him. Like any typical crush in our generation, we followed each other on Instagram, and I asked for his number. 😂 We went on our first date at T.G.I. Fridays on February 15th, 2014. Some might say I was the best Valentine’s he’s ever had 💁🏻♀️… and the rest is history. 💍💒💕
For me, it all started later that night. I decided to follow her on Instagram and post some “Good morning” messages before school started, hoping she would ask for one. 🤞🏽 Clearly, she did — which is why you’re reading this. 😂 I always knew about Erica during our Penn Tech years, but I never had the confidence to try and talk to her. Not only was she beautiful, but she was also blessed with a little more cushion than others, if you get what I’m saying. 😅 After a couple of months of talking, I knew she was the one (although I didn’t know she was this feisty at the time). I especially knew when one of my boys asked me if I would take a bullet for her, and without hesitation, I said yes. I gifted her a pair of Jordan 9’s and asked her to be my girl. Coincidentally, I asked her to marry me 9 years later. ❤️
