When Shaun lived on the other side of town he enjoyed going on runs along the encircling walking path, which has great views of the port and harbor. Inside the fort's walls you can get a peek into Baltimore's historic role in the War of 1812, which ultimately led to the penning of the Star Spangled Banner.
One of Erica's favorite unique spots in Baltimore, the American Visionary Art Museum specializes in original thematic exhibitions that seamlessly combine art, science, philosophy, humor and especially social justice and betterment. Be sure to check out the locally infamous kinetic sculpture, Fifi the pink poodle.
Located in the heart of the Mt. Vernon neighborhood, this museum is free and has a wide variety of artwork on display. Enter 'The Chamber of Wonders', Erica's favorite room, and discover something new among the menagerie every time you visit.
Shaun and Erica went to many a game together while Shaun had season tickets to the O's during the first few years he lived in Baltimore. Sports fans will appreciate visiting Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the first of the 'retro' ballparks constructed in the 90's. Tours are available on Saturdays at 11am and Sundays at 12pm.
Check out Shaun & Erica's neighborhood. Have lunch at one of the restaurants in O'Donnell Square, peruse the boutique gift shops and then walk south down Potomac Street, located at the East end of the Square to the Canton Waterfront Park where they tied the knot last October.
If you cannot join us on Sunday and want to venture out on your own on Saturday, check out the historic Fells Point neighborhood at its liveliest. This street festival is packed with vendors and boasts live music, food and drinks. You can of course opt to support one of the many local restaurants that line the festival as well!
