We are planning to arrive Wednesday Jan 30
Depending on your own situations, you may stay as long as you like! Captiva is wonderful!
The beach wedding ceremony will be held at the end of the boardwalk by the 2200 building at South Seas Resort. You can tell the guard house attendant where you need to go and they can point you in the right direction!
No, we are not planning to have chairs at the beach ceremony. If you require a seat for this event, please advise us ahead of time and we can arrange for a beach chair for you.
We are working on securing the island trolley to take us to the restaurant, but it’s also a pleasant walk from the beach :-) Sunny and I will be walking from the ceremony to the restaurant ☺️
The resort does not allow pets on their property.
The bride and groom respectfully request that the wedding ceremony be adults only. We understand that in order to attend our wedding, you may need to bring your children along for the ride. Please make arrangements to leave them in your weekend accommodations during our private intimate ceremony.
Captiva is west of Fort Myers, so if you know roughly how long it takes you to get to Fort Myers, tack on another 40 minutes or so to make it to the resort (Island speed limit is pretty low) You certainly do not need to stay the weekend or even the night. This can be done in a day trip if that’s all your schedule allows for
There is a Walmart just before you cross the bridge into the islands. We recommend purchasing any provisions you may have forgotten or wish to have during your stay at this Walmart, or any other store prior to arriving in Sanibel and Captiva. There are food stores on the island, but their stocks are generally limited and prices tend to be higher than on the mainland.
There is a toll booth plaza at the start of the bridge across to the islands. It takes Sunpass as well as other automatic prepaid toll passes, and toll-by-plate. The toll to get over is $9.00 per vehicle as of October 2021
There will be zero alcohol served at the beach ceremony. The bride respectfully requests that there be no alcoholic beverages brought to the beach ceremony either. Since there will be no formal reception, there will be no bar. Any guests wishing to partake in alcoholic beverages should plan to stock their weekend accommodations.
