After 2 years of being engaged, almost a year of monitoring the pandemic and staying socially distanced in Seattle, we decided to elope! We travelled to Las Vegas and although we missed everyone greatly, we had an amazing and truly memorable time. We stayed at The Four Seasons, got married (yay for a Palindrome date of 1/23/21) at the original Elvis-themed wedding chapel (they provide a free limo too which we loved), ate a 24 course special dinner at e by Jose Andres, and gambled at literally one roulette table. After many laughs and smiles, we flew back to Seattle to begin the next chapter of our life as husband and wife! The wedding is officially cancelled, but we are still very much looking forward to seeing everyone soon after things clear. We miss you with all our hearts and hope that you and your loved ones are safe and doing well!
In Fall 2017 Erica made the swipe that would change her life forever. As improbable as it may seem, Evan would end up being Erica's first and only online date (thank you, Bumble). The two hit it off right away sharing drinks in downtown Philadelphia and then Evan brought her to share his favorite meal (a bowl of spicy Dan Dan noodles) and as they say, the rest is history!
Evan proposed to Erica at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. On the way to the proposal, with a ring in his pocket and a pending dinner reservation at Zahav to follow the trip to the gardens, Evan managed to get pulled over. There was some water spilling onto the highway and the police had sectioned off a lane, which made Evan more nervous then he had been. When one of the police cars in the lane began moving forward, Evan took his chance to pull through into the lane. This move resulted in an irate police officer that decided to issue Evan two tickets. With the traffic and tickets behind them, Evan found a scenic spot in the arboretum and popped the question.
