We're getting Married!

We first met back in 2016 as family friends, but it wasn’t until the late spring of 2020 that something finally sparked. We had plans to hang out with our siblings, but when both of them ended up having other plans, we decided to go on a hike anyway—just the two of us. Little did we know it would be the best backup plan ever. That one hike turned into many, and before we knew it, we were spending every spare moment together—hiking, fishing, exploring, and soaking up every bit of sunshine that summer. In July 2020, after a day trip to Calgary, Eric nervously asked Tonia to be his girlfriend on the drive home. Spoiler alert: she said yes—and the rest is history. Since then, we’ve packed so much life into five years. We’ve tackled 23 hikes, hit the slopes 14 times, played 13 rounds of golf, pitched 9 tents, explored 4 provinces, caught 3 fish (between the both of us), and even made it to 2 Philadelphia Flyers games. And through it all, there’s always been 1 thing that mattered most: we did every bit of it together. Tonia has shared her love and knowledge of plants and animals with Eric, and he’s shared all his sports wisdom with her—honestly, a pretty perfect trade. Whether we’re identifying a new bird or celebrating a great putt, we’ve spent the last five years learning, laughing, and cheering each other on. Our relationship has always been rooted in our faith and the way God continues to work in our story. We’ve seen His hand guiding us from the very beginning, and we’re so excited to keep growing together in faith and love. These past five years have been full of adventures, late-night talks, road trips, inside jokes, and so much joy—and it truly feels like we’re only getting started. Here’s to a lifetime of adventures, planned or not. We can’t wait to celebrate this next one with all of you!
