As many of you know, Kyle works for an amazing hotel company - The Loews Chicago Hotel. Through here, we have met many friends and created several great memories. Like to many individuals and industries, the COVID19 pandemic caused several setbacks. Thankfully, Kyle and many of his coworkers were able to recently return to work at Loews. Along with the help of our Loews friends, Kyle was able to convice me of a “Loews Reopening Party” hosted at the hotel. Little did I know, there really was no such event planned. But, Kyle used this as a way to plan a beautiful surprise proposal. On September 16th, 2021, I made my way to the hotel where I met Kyle’s coworkers and our good friends. After chatting and getting ready, I was told we were first meeting for a “manager’s cocktail hour” on the 50th floor rooftop overlooking the city of Chicago. I believed Kyle had been here helping set up the event. As we made our way to the 50th floor, and after I stepped off of the elevator, I realized Kyle was standing on the rooftop alone. It was here that he proposed! Of course, I said, “yes!” and we shared our first glass of champagne as an engaged couple. Kyle then brought me down to the hotel's Streeterville rooftop where our friends were waiting for us. We called our families to tell them our exciting news and we shared the story with our friends. Afterwards, we all went to celebrate at an incredible restaurant called Monteverde where Kyle had a special menu planned out. It was at dinner where Kyle leaned over to me and said, “we can’t stay out too late, because we have an early flight in the morning.” Kyle had planned a surprise weekend trip to Nashville! We had such a great time. Here’s to becoming, “The Uzcategui’s!”
