Craig and Kate were engaged August 1st 2017. After spending a week in Alameda, CA with Craig's Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bill Elzig, they picked out a ring together (with Nancy's help). It was important to Craig that he picked the perfect ring. When he saw the sparkle in Kate's eyes, he knew he had succeeded. Craig asked for John's blessing right after their plane landed. Not one to waste time, he then dropped to his knee and popped the question right there in the Enslein's back yard, which happens to be one of Kate's favorite places. Earlier in the summer they closed on their first home! As they were e-signing the paperwork Craig saved Kate's life when he caught a foul ball from Max Kepler (#26, Twins). He did this with his bare hand! On the final day of the school year they received the keys to the new home, and immediately began making it their home. As they have begun the process of building their life together, they have each taken an interest in each other's hobbies; Craig is well on his way to being the finest artisan baker who is steeply endowed in the arts: Finding Neverland on Broadway was magical. Conversely, Katherine has learned of the pain and sorrow that is being a Viking fan....but seriously their first date was watching a Viking game, what a girl! Additionally, Craig is an avid (less than exceptional) golfer, and Kate loves to accompany him the course and assure him he is still special. If you did not know, Kate is a very well traveled individual. From learning abroad in France and China, to teaching and traveling throughout South East Asia... Craig went to Mexico his Junior year. Thanks to Kate's influence, Craig has now taken three vacations in one year! From the beautiful Big Sky State, to California, and Friday Harbor, the traveling spark has been ignited. Together they cannot wait to travel this great nation and tour the world side by side.
