Wedding Party

Meet our Family and Friends who are walking down the aisle with us.

Sarah Suszko

Maid of Honor

Sarah and Liz met Liz's senior year of high school. While Sarah started off at Saginaw Valley and was a year ahead, when Liz found out Sarah was transferring to Ferris State, they ended up bunking up as roommates. What started off as typical college shenanigans and late night Coney Island runs, turned into a lifetime of friendship. One of the best memories included a long icy walk where both Sarah and Liz fell at least 10 times and almost gave up because they were laughing so hard. Sarah and Liz have been with each other through some of the best times and some of the worst. Sarah is a devoted daughter, sister and wife, loyal friend and soon-to-be mama. Sarah and Liz are very much alike and often times get called twins, they are very lucky to have found one another.

Kareem Abou

Best Man

Kareem and Doug met around the 6th grade, and have been best friends ever since. They share many great stories and memories with none more important than their summer trip to Michigan State University, during High School, where Doug fell in love with his Alma Mater. Kareem's never short with a witty joke or sarcastic comment so make sure to stop by the head table during the wedding for a nice laugh or some light spirited banter. With that being said, the best mans speech should be a good one for those that enjoy a hearty laugh with punchlines that are sure to make many attending granny's jaws drop.

Kahli Schroeder

Bridesmaid

Kahli and Liz's friendship goes way back. Their friendship blossomed senior year of high school when they went to Cancun for senior spring break - if that doesn't make you close, I don't know what will. Seriously though, make sure to ask Kahli about the highlight from their trip as still to this day the laughs continue on (let's just say there was a big splash involved). After high school, Kahli and Liz both went to Ferris State University where they lived together. One thing that they thankfully have in common is they are both neat freaks; so there weren't many disagreements on the cleanliness of their apartment outside of who got to use the washer and dryer next. Kahli is the friend that no matter what the occasion, when together you will likely laugh until you pee a little.

Lori Burger

Bridesmaid

Liz started off friends with Lori's sister Michelle (they were in the same graduating class) but after heading off to college at Ferris State, Lori and Liz became close. Lori and Liz went from Cadillac High to Ferris State, to being practically neighbors in Metro Detroit. Lori is the friend that is always up for a good time. Let's just say Lori and Liz have had a lot of fun together over the years and since Lori is a few years older they may have even convinced a bouncer at one point that Liz forgot her ID but that they were twins so both of them could get in with a 21 stamp at River Rock (a popular bar at Ferris State where you could find most students on any given Thursday, Friday or Saturday night). Lori is an amazing friend and is someone that you can always count on.

Gina Floore

Bridesmaid

Gina and Liz met in college Liz's first semester after transferring to Oakland University in the Elementary Education program from Ferris State. As luck may have it, Liz was fortunate enough to meet Gina in a public speaking class where both of them chose to sit in the back of the class in hopes of not getting called on. While Liz chose to switch majors and they did not share classes together any longer, their friendship prevailed. When you meet Gina, you will know instantly that she is a elementary school teacher. She is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and is so genuine in everything she does.

Martyna Nowak

Bridesmaid

Martyna and Liz worked together at TEKsystems for 2 years. While they have not known each other for very long, they clicked instantly when they met and have a lot in common. Martyna is always up for a good time and despite that she is known for saying she doesn't want to be out late every time they get together, she is always the last one to leave. She is an expert on the birth of the Coney Dog from her time working at National Coney Island and even if you don't like hotdogs, you will be craving one after a conversation with her because she is relentless with her sales pitch.

Heather Ouwinga

Bridesmaid

Heather is Liz's oldest friend of the crew. They met in 9th grade after Liz's junior high boyfriend told her that he thought Heather was pretty, Liz felt compelled to intervene. Their friendship has consisted of so many memories over the years and none of which were short of a great time. Heather is the most free-spirited of the bunch, her passion to explore and to appreciate the "little things" in life is contagious. In some ways she has an old soul, but above all she has a huge heart. Heather is the type of person that you just feel comfortable around; she has a unique way of making people feel special no matter if she has known you her whole life or just met you for the first time. You will most likely find Heather on the dance floor, especially if any T-Pain songs start jamming.

Kyle Seehase

Groomsman

Kyle and Doug share a friendship dating back to when Barney first wagged his big purple tail on television. No seriously though, they have known one another since kindergarten and have been friends ever since. Kyles best attribute is his closet where he holds the record for most outfits this side of the Mississippi. On many occasion Doug can be seen wearing an article of Kyle's clothing on a regular basis with or without Kyle's knowledge of his thievery. The long ongoing debate is who looks better in Kyles inner wardrobe belongings that fit them perfectly both so well? We'll have to save the answer for another day, but if anyone sees Kyle before the wedding make sure to tell him to bring a few extra white shirts incase the groom spills something on himself during his big day.

Graham Nelson

Groomsman

Doug and Graham have known one another going on 3 decades after Graham moved to Cadillac in the 3rd grade. Graham credits himself with the creation of the Controlled Side Part (CSP) haircut (as shown in his photo) so make sure to give this handsome guy some props when you see him at the wedding. On a side note, Doug and Graham once played basketball together in 5th grade, and the creation of Doug's nickname butterfingers was born. Although Doug never played basketball again, their friendship endured and many more nicknames have been created since.

Ryan Selleck

Groomsman

Ryan is Doug's longest roommate of the bunch, and if common law marriages were actually a thing these guys would be in some trouble. If you call out Ryan's name and he doesn't respond right away its because his friends have called him Yao for nearly 20 years. Seriously, try it out and yell YAO, he'll come running. Fun fact of the day: Doug once watched Yao win a dance off to crown them victors of a company euchre tournament. How those two things were ever related we will never know, but, it sounds like there could be some competition out there once the music starts thumping. ***see Cory's profile

Cory Sanborn

Groomsman

Cory shares the longest running friends duty with Kyle after Doug and him met while in kindergarten. He will be a breath of fresh air at the wedding as one of the more mellow groomsman Doug will be subjecting you to all night. Don't let that fool you though. If you can't find him during the evenings events he has been known to let his hair down a bit and cut a rug on the dance floor. For all you young kids out there that only know how to floss, sit back and watch him work the floor. You may be able to learn a few moves from this light-footed giant. Everyone else old enough to get the reference think Vince Vaughn from Wedding Crashers. "You know you make me wanna shout!"

Jeff Schappa

Groomsman

Just a little history lesson for all of those that don't know Jeff. Jeff was born in Cadillac, MI where him and Doug became friends after meeting in middle school. They spent many days and nights at his house either relaxing in the hot tub, playing foosball or drinking his parents household out of Coca-Cola while raiding the pantry. Even though Jeff lives in the Land Down Under now and has an Australian accent confusing those around him with words like 'mum' for mom, Doug and him have remained close friends. No language barrier or 9500 miles/15000 kms distance can get in the middle of these two life-long mates. Cheers!

Bobby Peek

Groomsman

Bobby and Doug met in college working on the same team during a summer job painting dorm rooms. They unfortunately also shared the title of "The Worst Paint Crew Ever" given to them by management, and realized quickly they should focus on graduating with degrees instead of banking on their painting passions to carry them through life. This didn't deter their friendship as they became roommates shortly after spending many a nights trying to convince themselves, and anyone else around them who would listen, that the aforementioned paint crew was worse off without them. Side note - To this day Doug remains troubled from his paint crew failing and blames his ill fated poor handyman skills on this traumatizing event. Luckily for him, Liz is quite the Frida Kahlo with a paint brush.

Alex Demosthenes

Groomsman

Alex and Doug met while they were studying abroad in Ecuador during their college endeavors. The good news is if you've ever wondered how to say something in Spanish that isnt el bano, or cerveza, they've got you covered. Feel free to quiz Alex at the wedding, and then maybe take home what you've learned to impress your work colleagues with a little Espanol. Aside from international travel, Alex and Doug have enjoyed domestically traveling together vowing to meet up yearly to keep in touch. Various destinations have included NYC, DC, Charlotte, and Malibu. Thank goodness Liz tagged along on their adventure to The Golden State because she came home with a sparkly diamond on her ring finger!

Ruby Lizotte

Flower Girl

Ruby Joy, the youngest of Doug's oldest brother Curtis and sister-in-law Erin. She's a doll and will steal your heart in an instant. What more is there to say?

Brock Burger

Ring Bearer

Brock, son of Bridesmaid Lori Burger. He is shy at first, but once he opens up he loves his high fives. He is as cute as a button and is going to be looking extra dapper in his bowtie.

Dillon Lizotte

Usher

Dillon, son of Doug's oldest brother Curtis and sister-in-law Erin. He is so very sweet. He always loves to help and is full of questions. We love him so!

Brayden Spears

Usher

Brayden, youngest of Liz's sister Cassie. He loves all sports and wants to be a professional basketball player someday. He is goofy and charming and very much adorn.
