Emma and Noah met in high school during their freshman year while Noah was assigned to assist with setting up the stationary section for the marching band. Emma played synthesizer and Noah pulled her keyboard and helped set it up during their rehearsals and performances. During these times they chatted and had fun during their many performances. Several years later, Noah had quit band but kept talking with Emma and maintained their friendship. Eventually when junior year prom came and neither had dates they decided to go together. Shortly after prom they decided to make it official. After high school, they attended different colleges, but made an effort to keep their relationship strong with monthly trips to each other's campuses and frequent facetime calls. After graduating from college early, Noah started his masters at Texas A&M to join Emma while she was in her senior year. After finishing his masters, Noah and Emma moved in together in Syracuse, New York where Emma had moved for work. Shortly after, Noah found work with the City and they now live happily in Downtown Syracuse. In September of 2024, Emma and Noah went on their first backpacking trip to the Adirondacks with some friends. The group’s goal was to summit the tallest mountain in New York state, but were ultimately unsuccessful during that trip. Noah planned a trip for just the two of them to return the following month to attempt the climb again. After backpacking 16 miles, Emma and Noah finally made it to the top of Mount Marcy! While Emma was taking a video of the breathtaking landscape, Noah was preparing to propose behind her. Once she turned around, she saw Noah on one knee with the ring he had carried in his pocket the whole hike. Fueled by their excitement, the two hustled down the mountain and 4 miles back to camp. They packed out the next day and called their family once they made it back to civilization to share the exciting news!
