The Ausable Club golf course is a unique 9 hole course that may be enjoyed by all skill levels. Be sure to bring your clubs and head down to the golf shop for a round!
The Ausable Club has seven clay tennis courts which require white attire. First come first serve! Tennis balls are available at the pro shop located behind the club house.
The Lower Ausable Lake is a gorgeous spot to relax, swim, and enjoy a picnic on a nice day. You can walk to the lake or take the bus, which leaves from the front circle. A bus schedule will be available upon check in. The Lake Road is 3.5 miles, and has a gradual incline. It takes a little over an hour to walk to the lake, and about 15 minutes on the bus. You can always walk to the lake and take the bus back, or vice versa. Guide boats and canoes are available for a scenic row or paddle on the lake.
Indian Head is a gorgeous one and a half mile hike from the Lower Lake. The breathtaking view you will find on top is of the Lower and Upper Ausable lakes, as well as the Great Range of the Adirondacks. The climb up takes approximately 40 to 50 minutes. Weather permitting, you can take a refreshing swim in the lake after your climb!
Take a walk on either the East or West River trails and cast a line at the many fishy pools you'll find throughout the river. Only artificial flies and lures are permitted. Fishing licenses can be purchased at front desk.
Meals will be provided by the Ausable Club from Friday evening through Sunday morning. Near the club there are a handful of shops and restaurants all located within a mile of each other in the town of Keene Valley. Noonmark Diner and the Ausable Inn are two local eateries. The Birch Store sells gifts and clothing while the Mountaineer is great for outdoor apparel and gear. Further afield in Keene, Dartbrook Rustic Goods has amazing home decor and gifts, and Cedar Run, ADK Cafe and FortySix have good food. And even a bit farther up the road is Lake Placid with too many choices to list!
