Summers in Japan tend to be very humid & hot. July can also be rainy at times, so it's hard to predict what kind of weather we will have during this week. In general, plan for extreme heat, with the possibility of slightly cooler evenings / rain. Check the weather app for Shinano, Kamiminochi-Gun before your flight to see what to expect.
**We will be staying in a rustic & outdoorsy environment. Expect cozy wooden cabins, beautiful nature, and a likely chance of some bug encounters! **There are some designated public spaces with wifi, but you may not have access in your cabin. **Electrical outlets in Japan are compatible with US devices, but only if the cable is 2-prong. For 3-prong cables, a converter will be required. Please plan in advance if a converter is needed. **You will be walking a lot of non-paved dirt pathways, as well as uphill/downhill roads. Please bring clothing & footwear that has good grip & that you're ok with getting dirty! **A flashlight or light source will be needed when walking at night **In Japan, taking your shoes off at the door is standard. This applies to every household, as well as many restaurants/businesses. Please respect this custom & remove your shoes when entering cabins or any other spaces that request this.
