Hannah’s 2nd grade yearbook has evidence of Emmett having a crush but both our first memories of each other come a year later and make both of us cringe being retold. He remembers her giving a speech about William “The Refrigerator” Perry in a Bears jersey and when he was thirsty at recess once, he told Hannah and she said, “just swallow your spit.” Endearing. Hannah’s first memory of Emmett is of him performing in the talent show as one of The Beatles. In 8th grade, we were bus partners for the full year and Hannah was a foot taller than Emmett. His next memory of Hannah is her rubbing white paint on his chest in the front lawn before a football game Senior year starting our friendship. We went to prom together that year. The next several months are wild and we’ll skip over them. We then decided to be friends, just friends, for a decade. Cut to 2022, a few watch parties of Obi-Wan Kenobi and a late night chat later, a mutual decision was made to try being more than friends. The rest is the history you’re mostly up to speed on.
