The Georgia Aquarium is one of Emma’s favorite places in the city. If you arrive early on Thursday or want to spend part of your Saturday or Sunday exploring Atlanta, this is a great stop. It’s an easy way to see more of the city and enjoy one of its most well-known attractions.

Aflac Kickoff Game

If you love college football, the Aflac Kickoff Game is in town the same weekend. On September 5, 2026, Baylor and Auburn (boo) face off in Atlanta.

Dragon Con

Dragon Con is the largest multi-media pop culture convention in the country and takes over Atlanta every Labor Day weekend. It celebrates everything from science fiction and fantasy to gaming, comics, art, music, and film. Even if you don’t have a badge, the free parade on Saturday morning, September 5th, is worth seeing. It’s one of the city’s most popular events and a fun way to experience the energy of the weekend.

High Museum of Art

Atlanta Botanical Garden

The Atlanta Botanical Garden offers 30 acres of beautiful outdoor spaces right next to Piedmont Park in Midtown. It’s a peaceful spot to wander through lush plant displays, enjoy the canopy walk, or catch one of the seasonal exhibits. There are also dining options on site, so it’s an easy way to pair a stroll with a relaxed meal.

Fox Theatre

We’ll share the weekend show schedule as it gets closer so you can plan ahead if you’d like to catch a performance.
