McKenzie grew up in Montana, while Emmanuel grew up in Uganda so technically, this love story spans the globe. Over the years, McKenzie’s family joked that her prince charming must be “riding on a turtle instead of a horse.” Turns out… he wasn’t late he was just coming from another continent. Emmanuel eventually made his way to Montana through Youth With a Mission (YWAM), and when the two of them met, things moved quickly in the best way. What started as a connection quickly became clear: God was writing something bigger than either of them expected. Emmanuel fell in love with McKenzie’s heart especially the way she opens her life to children and creates a home full of love. McKenzie fell in love with Emmanuel’s deep faith, his servant heart, and the way he pours into others. It didn’t take long for them to realize they didn’t want to wait to start forever. Together, they’re building a life centered on faith, family, and ministry raising kids, loving people well, and doing their best to reflect God’s love in everything they do. And yes… the turtle was worth the wait.
