Our Love Story

Manny & Cindy

Cindy and Manny met while working at a physical therapy clinic—Cindy at the front desk, Manny moving between patients and documentation. He often found his way to her area, and what started as casual conversation began to grow into something meaningful. They were part of a close-knit crew of coworkers who often hung out after shifts. Manny typically preferred staying late or squeezing in a workout, but Cindy had a way of convincing him to join the fun. As the group hangouts became more frequent, they naturally found themselves talking more and gravitating toward each other. Somewhere between late nights and group outings, they both started to realize their friendship was quietly turning into something more. Eventually, those group settings turned into quieter moments, just the two of them slipping away for a bit to talk. Since they worked together, they kept their relationship private. It felt easier and more fun to keep their connection just between them. Their first unofficial date wasn’t even supposed to be a date. They had plans to catch a movie at CityWalk with a friend who canceled at the last minute. With just the two of them left, the night felt natural, fun, and more telling than they expected. From there, things unfolded effortlessly. They shared trips, late-night conversations, and supported each other through unpredictable seasons—especially during the pandemic. During that time, with both of them working in the clinic, they leaned on each other through long hours, uncertainty, and the stress that came with it all. It was during that time they began learning how to truly be there for one another. They were building something that wasn’t just romantic - it was grounded in patience, communication, and understanding. They learned how to navigate difficult moments and how to show up even when things weren’t easy. Cindy learned how Manny needed to be loved, and he did the same for her. They learned how to communicate through tension, how to support each other's goals, and how to give one another space to grow. The more time they spent together, the more they understood that real love isn’t just found—it’s built, one moment at a time. One of their first trips was to Paso Robles, Cindy had the flu but was determined to go anyway. It didn’t go exactly as planned but it became one of those funny, memorable stories they always looked back on. A few years later, Manny planned a redo and this time to DAOU Vineyards. It was raining, and Manny kept checking his phone, waiting for the clouds to clear. They wandered between drizzles, taking in the views and making the most of it. As their Uber delayed, Manny asked her to take a photo by the stairs overlooking the vineyard and the mountains. Cindy turned around and he was on one knee. It was simple, personal, and exactly right. The next day, Manny surprised Cindy with a small celebration with some of their closest friends and family. He had asked her dad for his blessing, a gesture that spoke volumes. Since then, they’ve continued to grow together in ways that matter. They’ve been each other’s light during some of the darkest times in their lives. Proving that sometimes, the right person comes along exactly when you need them most. And sometimes, that someone turns out to be the one you were always meant to find. They support each other, show up consistently, and know how to create balance when life gets overwhelming. When one of them needs a little extra strength, the other is there without hesitation. What started as a quiet connection at work grew into the kind of love that’s thoughtful, steady, and true. They’ve built something lasting and they’re walking into the future side by side, ready for whatever it brings.
