This is a great walking/biking trail. You can follow it eastwards as the trail begins to follow the Wissahickon River, separating East Falls from Manayunk. You can meet up with the trail just 1/4 mile or so from the church, and follow it all the way to Philly's Historic Rittenhouse Town (~3mi). There are plenty of other sights along the way, too. Such as Lover's Leap, and Hermit's Cave which is a short detour north of the main trail. You can also head south and start walking back towards Center City; taking you past the Art Museum and other iconic sights (8+mi).
Located just SW of the venue, Main Street has plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop during the day and at night.
This is a nice park near Wissahickon River.
This is a great Arboretum that we have both loved to visit/walk around in the past. Just a short drive from East Falls.
It's a zoo. An incredibly, awesome zoo. 'Nough said.
Our favorite museum in Philadelphia. The architecture alone is breathtaking. They are still at reduced hours, but are open Thurs-Mon, 11-5. General admission is $25.
Probably our second favorite Art Museum in the city, and within walking distance of the Cathedral of Philadelphia. We both have spent a lot of time here. If you go on Friday, Dec 3rd (5-8:45) or Sunday, Dec 5th (10-5), it will be Pay What You Wish. Regular admission (outside those hours) is $25.
Absolutely astonishing Cathedral, built in the 1800's before Benjamin Franklin Parkway was ever constructed. We definitely recommend visiting if you are in Center City. It is right across from Logan Square, and is within easy walking distance to many popular attractions. Mass times for Sunday are: 8:00am in Basilica 9:30am in Basilica 11:00am in Basilica 12:30pm Spanish Mass in Cathedral Chapel 6:30 pm in Basilica
A good central point for walking around the more historic section of the city. The architecture of the building is definitely something worth checking out. You can also often see people playing music as you walk through the archways to the center courtyard (open during the day).
Definitely one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city. If you want to make a day in Center City, make sure to walk around Reading Terminal Market where you can buy good food and some great produce.
It's the city of brotherly love. Take an iconic Philly shot in front of the Giant LOVE sign.
There may be some ice skating available here, so long as they open it back up again this year. Kind of pricey, but if you want to go skating in the heart of the city, this is a great place to do it!
We'll list some great places to eat in East Falls, and one or two locations in Center City.
There is a nice little cafe here if you're looking for something quick. Their coffee is great! It is also steps away from St. Bridget's church.
If you're looking for a nice pub, look no more! Incredible quality of food/alcohol.
Yes, this is where we'll be having the Sunday Brunch. If you can't wait though, definitely check them out sooner for brunch, lunch, or dinner. All around good food/drinks, and very family friendly as well. If it's warm enough, you might even consider sitting outside next to their fires, and taking in the East Falls atmosphere.
This place is temporarily closed due to staff shortages, but if they are open in December you should definitely check them out! An excellent Vegan place, that is very family friendly, and staffed by all around awesome people. The food is incredible, so even if you like meat, I promise you won't be disappointed. Great for a quick bite to eat, or a longer meal.
Great pizza place within walking distance to a lot of Philly's best museums.
If you're looking for more fine dining, then this is the place to go! Great food and drink, from incredible chefs. Reservation IS required, and the menu is seasonal.
